Job Title: Journeyman Carpenter
Location: Oahu, HI

Hourly Compensation: $40-$50- commensurate with experience

What You'll Do

You are the difference between "good enough" and "dead-on."

You'll take plans and turn them into reality — clean, square, level, and built to spec the first time.

• Execute precise layout for foundations, walls, and structural systems
• Use levels, string lines, lasers, and transits like second nature
• Ensure everything is square, plumb, and dialed — no exceptions
• Catch mistakes early and fix them before they cost time or money
• Read and interpret rebar, foundation, and structural plans with confidence
• Set and maintain batter boards and layout reference points
• Calculate and transfer elevations accurately across the jobsite
• Support forming, framing, bracing, and stripping for concrete work
• Stage materials efficiently — waste is not part of the plan
• Work side-by-side with crews across trades to hit deadlines and deliver quality
• Maintain tools, uphold safety standards, and keep the site tight

This role demands accuracy, awareness, and accountability — every single day.

What You Bring

You're not entry-level. You've been in the field, you know the pace, and you understand what's at stake when things aren't done right.

Experience & Skillset:

• Hands-on carpentry experience in concrete, foundations, framing, or related work
• Strong layout ability with real-world jobsite application
• Solid understanding of measurements, elevations, and construction math
• Ability to read and execute from plans and technical drawings
• Familiarity with rebar placement, spacing, and structural coordination
• Confidence using layout tools (laser levels, transits, etc.)
• Physically capable of handling demanding field conditions

Requirements (Conditions of Employment)

Employment at Alpha Inc. is contingent upon:
• Completion of standard pre-employment screening.
• Successful completion of a background check conducted after a conditional offer; any prior issues will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis consistent with Hawaiʻi and federal law.
• Passing a drug test (for both full-time and part-time hires) conducted in line with Hawaiʻi statutory requirements.
