Position Summary
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a pivotal role in the financial leadership of our organization. Reporting directly to the President, you will oversee all financial aspects of our company, with a strong focus on project accounting due to the nature of our business. You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing financial performance, and providing strategic recommendations to the executive team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies and plans that align with the company's long-term objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, performance metrics, and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, senior lenders, and investors.
  • Project Accounting: Oversee project accounting activities, ensuring accurate tracking of costs, revenues, and profitability for each project.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting to provide insights into the company's financial performance and outlook.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure liquidity and support operational needs. Implement strategies to optimize cash flow efficiency.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and industry standards by implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain data integrity.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws. Oversee financial audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making processes, including investment analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with other senior executives to drive overall business strategy, offering financial insights and expertise to guide decision-making.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Evaluate potential merger and acquisition opportunities, perform due diligence, and lead financial negotiations and integration efforts.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; Masters or MBA preferred.
  • CP must.
  • Proven experience as a CFO managing a department of at least 10 employees.
  • Knowledge of project accounting, construction, or real estate development.
  • Experience with senior lending arrangements including ABL structures, lender covenant compliance, etc.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards (GAAP), regulations, and compliance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced skill level using Excel required with proficiency in all other Microsoft products
  • Experience with enterprise-level accounting systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable financial terms in contracts, partnerships, and transactions
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others
