Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead overall clinical development strategy from preclinical studies through early-stage clinical development
  • Design and oversee Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical studies
  • Serve as Medical Monitor for preclinical and clinical programs
  • Lead regulatory strategy and interactions with health authorities
  • Author and review clinical documentation, study protocols, investigator materials, and regulatory submissions
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and clinical advisors
  • Support business development, partnering, and investor-facing activities as the medical leader of the organization
  • Establish long-term clinical development plans and milestone-driven execution strategies

Required Skills

Required Qualifications

  • M.D. required
  • Board certification in Endocrinology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Pulmonology, or a related specialty preferred
  • 10+ years of clinical development experience within biotechnology or pharmaceuticals
  • Experience designing and executing Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials
  • Previous experience serving as a Medical Monitor, Principal Investigator, Clinical Lead, or Chief Medical Officer
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory pathways and clinical development strategy

Preferred Qualifications

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Intranasal therapeutics
  • Nasal spray drug products
  • Nose-to-brain delivery platforms
  • Inhaled drug development
  • Pulmonary delivery technologies
  • Drug-device combination products
  • Metabolic disease, obesity, diabetes, or endocrinology programs
  • CNS therapeutics
  • Emerging biotechnology companies and startup environments

Ideal Background

Candidates may come from biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical organizations, academic medicine, or clinical-stage drug development environments. Experience leading the clinical strategy for innovative delivery technologies will be viewed particularly favorably.

The role is expected to begin in a fractional capacity with the opportunity to expand into a larger leadership commitment as clinical development activities progress.
