Document Controller (File Management Systems) – Houston, TX

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

We’re partnered with a leading organization in the offshore / energy sector seeking a detail-oriented Document Controller to support document management across active, project-driven environments. This role will play a key part in ensuring documentation accuracy, compliance, and organization across multiple projects.

Role Highlights:

• Manage and maintain project documentation within a centralized File Management System (FMS)
• Ensure proper document control processes including numbering, naming, version control, and filing
• Track and manage full document lifecycle (receipt, distribution, revisions, and archiving)
• Maintain key registers such as Plan Status, Internal Document Register (IDR), and External Document Register (EDR)
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure document accuracy and compliance
• Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Assist with audits by ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and audit-ready
• Support project close-out activities including document handover and archiving

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in document control, file management systems, or project administration
• Strong understanding of document lifecycle, version control, and tracking processes
• Experience with platforms such as SharePoint, Aconex, Procore, or similar systems preferred
• Background supporting offshore, energy, engineering, or construction projects is highly preferred
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally
