Position Summary:
A position in Aerotech’s Electrical R&D department as an electrical technician offers opportunities in design and testing of our industry-leading motion control hardware. Primary responsibilities of an electrical technician include building fixtures, testing motion-control components, assisting with compliance documentation, and coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams. Additionally, this position offers the opportunity for design and troubleshooting work associated with wire harnesses, circuit board assemblies, motors, and other equipment. This role is focused on developing a valued technical expert who will produce high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures.

What will your day look like? At Aerotech, you will:

  • Work on cutting-edge technologies used in motion control components
  • Collaborate with leading engineers in the field of automation and robotics on a close-knit team
  • Use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, temperature recorders, DVMs and current probes to perform electrical testing of servo drives at voltages ranging from 120VAC to 480VAC
  • Collect, document and archive test results in order to show compliance with UL and CE electrical safety requirements. 
  • Design, document and build test fixtures used for electrical safety and EMC compliance testing
  • Provide general support for the Electrical Engineering department including component validation, troubleshooting and documentation

What will separate you from the rest? Experience with:

  • Servo drives or other industrial control systems
  • Electrical safety standards used for UL and CE compliance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field 
  • Five years of related professional experience 
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Must be authorized to work in the US currently and in the future without employer sponsorship
