Microbiology Laboratory Technician
This role is ideal for a recent college graduate with a degree in microbiology or a related scientific discipline who is eager to gain hands-on laboratory experience in a regulated testing environment. The technician will support microbiological testing activities, with a strong emphasis on pipetting accuracy and qPCR-based workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine microbiological testing, including:
qPCR testing using QuantStudio equipment
Purity testing
Net content analysis
Endotoxin testing
Prepare samples, reagents, and controls according to established SOPs
Execute precise pipetting techniques to ensure data accuracy and reproducibility
Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
Accurately document test results, observations, and deviations in laboratory records
Follow all laboratory safety, quality, and compliance procedures
Assist with troubleshooting basic assay or equipment issues
Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized lab environment

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
Strong pipetting skills and attention to detail
Basic understanding of microbiological laboratory techniques
Comfort working in a lab setting with biological specimens
Ability to follow written protocols and standardized procedures precisely
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on academic or internship experience with qPCR
Familiarity with QuantStudio or similar real-time PCR platforms
Exposure to purity, endotoxin, or quality-control testing
Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or regulated lab environments

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
