Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Dunwoody in Dunwoody, GA, is looking for a professional, friendly, and motivated Pet Stylist with previous grooming experience to join our pack! The Professional Dog Groomer at Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming is responsible for providing top-notch grooming services to our furry clients. This role involves bathing, trimming, and styling dogs of various breeds according to customer preferences and breed standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, strong grooming skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Groomers are hired as W-2 employees.

Minimum of 1 year experience grooming all breeds .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Grooming Services:

• Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, drying, trimming, and styling dogs according to breed standards or pet owner instructions.
• Handle a variety of grooming tasks, including nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and expressing anal glans.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all dogs during grooming sessions, using gentle handling techniques.
• Follow all Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming safety, cleaning, and grooming policies and procedures

Client Communication:

• Consult with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and any special instructions.
• Provide advice on proper grooming maintenance and recommend appropriate products for each dog’s coat and skin type.
• Recommend products that would aid in home grooming care.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Safety and Cleanliness:

• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized regularly.
• Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries to pets and staff.
• Monitor the health and behavior of dogs during grooming and report any concerns to the Store Manager, Store Owner, or pet owner.
• Perform all general maintenance and safety of grooming salon: clean cages, tubs, grooming tables, vacuums, sweep/vacuum floor, mop floor daily, empty trash, clean clipper blades, scissors, and brushes after use.

Inventory and Supplies:

• Monitor grooming supplies and report any shortages or need for replacements to the Store Manager.
• Properly store grooming products and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with other team members to maintain a positive work environment.
• Assist with training new groomers, grooming assistants, or bathers as needed.
• Take before and after pictures for social media and marketing purposes.

Customer Service:

• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any questions or concerns from pet parents.
• Ensure that pets and their owners leave satisfied and happy with the grooming experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience as a professional dog groomer, with a portfolio of work.
• Certification from a recognized grooming school is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of different dog breeds and grooming standards.
• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with care and patience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

SKILLS

• Proficiency in various grooming techniques, including hand-scissoring, clipping, and de-matting.
• Familiar with standard cuts for all breeds, including the latest industry trends, as well as using various tools of the trade.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift dogs when necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds.
• Ability to work in a grooming environment with the presence of fur, noise, and cleaning agents.
• Must keep dog grooming areas and kennels clean between each groom.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have personal tools.
• Must maintain a clean and professional personal appearance.
• Must be able to speak to clients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Must maintain a clean and healthy environment for clients.
• Must have great work ethic, is punctual, and reliable.
