HVAC Project Manager
Location: Garden City, NY
Salary Range: $150,000 – $180,000 (commensurate with experience)


Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing multiple small-to-mid-size HVAC projects while serving as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, and comfortable engineering practical solutions in the field while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent HVAC projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company quality standards
  • Oversee projects including service upgrades, retrofits, tenant fit-outs, and system replacements
  • Serve as the primary liaison for assigned customer accounts, maintaining strong relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Handle all customer communications, including scope clarification, progress updates, issue resolution, and change order discussions
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure accurate execution
  • Engineer and troubleshoot HVAC solutions in the field, working closely with field supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to meet project schedules
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, track costs, approve invoices, and forecast financial performance
  • Identify and manage change orders, including pricing, documentation, and client approval
  • Conduct job site visits to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with codes and company standards
  • Collaborate with estimating, engineering, service, and operations teams to ensure smooth project handoffs and execution
  • Support business development efforts by identifying upsell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Ensure all project documentation, closeout packages, and warranties are completed accurately and on time

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in HVAC project management, preferably with a mechanical contractor
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and field operations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience managing customer accounts and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Ability to engineer practical, cost-effective solutions in the field
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
