Job Description

I’m partnering with a client to hire a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer with active PE licensure and stamping authority to support high-impact federal projects tied to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) .

This is a key leadership role where you’ll serve as the Engineer of Record , leading civil and structural design for mission-critical petroleum storage and transfer infrastructure in a highly regulated environment.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as Engineer of Record , stamping and sealing civil/structural design documents
• Lead design efforts for infrastructure upgrades and facility improvements
• Design and review:
• Structural steel systems (pipe racks, platforms, supports)
• Reinforced concrete foundations and slabs
• Equipment and tank foundations
• Anchorage and embedment systems
• Grading, drainage, and site development plans
• Perform structural analysis in accordance with:
• ASCE 7 (including coastal wind design)
• ACI 318
• AISC Steel Manual
• UFC and DOE standards
• Prepare and review calculations, specs, and construction documents
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, piping, process)
• Support RFIs, submittals, site visits, and construction-phase engineering
• Participate in field investigations and structural assessments

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering
• Active PE license (required) with ability to stamp drawings
• Licensed in LA & TX or able to obtain reciprocity
• 12+ years of civil/structural design experience
• Proven experience as Engineer of Record and stamping construction documents.
• Extensive background in; industrial structural steel and concrete design, heavy equipment foundations, wind loading in hurricane-prone regions
• Experience with federal clients (DOE, USACE, DOD, VA preferred)
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools (RAM, RISA, STAAD, etc.)
• AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
• Ability to obtain required site access/security clearance

Preferred Experience

• Energy, petroleum, or industrial processing facilities
• Familiarity with UFC criteria and federal design standards
• Experience performing structural assessments of aging infrastructure
• Construction-phase engineering support
